Aspen Medical has today, 14 December 2017, opened the first phase of a new healthcare clinic in Honiara catering to the people and businesses of the local community.  This move follows the departure of the Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands (RAMSI) in June this year where Aspen Medical supported advisors, police and military personnel from the 15 participating nations for 13 years.

There will be a phased opening of the clinic.  The first phase includes GP-operated primary health, paramedicine, physiotherapy, basic pathology and x-ray.  Over the coming months services will be expanded to include a paediatric nurse and medical sciences.

Mr Matt Hughes, Aspen Medical’s Executive General Manager - Australia & Asia-Pacific said, “We are very excited about opening our new clinic and providing world class healthcare services to the local community and just as importantly being able to provide opportunities for employment for our local clinical and administrative team.  The Solomon Islands community has made us feel very welcome over the past 13 years of RAMSI and we are looking forward to a new chapter.

“Our team has worked hard to ensure we open on time and I would like to thank them for their efforts in ensuring we have the best facilities to support our clients.”

The new clinic is situated next to the IBS Monarch Hotel on the Tandai Highway in Rove. The clinic will initially be open from 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 12.30pm on Saturday.

Aspen Medical and its US associate company Aspen Medical International (AMI) operates clinics in Papua New Guinea, Liberia, Sierre Leone, South Sudan and Libya.
