Decisions designed for lasting impact

At Aspen Medical, ESG means being accountable for how we deliver healthcare, clinically, operationally and ethically. It informs the way we lead, how we make decisions and how we respond in complex environments. ESG shapes our responsibility to the people and systems we work with and reflects our intent to do business in a way that supports long-term value, not just immediate outcomes.

Over the past year, this has meant taking practical, measurable action across our operations. More than 60 per cent of our Scope 3 emissions are now reported by verified suppliers, giving us clearer oversight of environmental impact across our network and targets to reduce them. It includes increasing renewable energy use across sites, where we have already achieved 100 per cent renewable electricity use at our global HQ in Canberra, Australia. We completed 84 per cent of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan deliverables, supported 8,200 remote clinical placements, and awarded multiple scholarships across Australia and the Pacific to increase access to healthcare education to disadvantaged groups and strengthen future local workforces. More than 1,400 staff completed ESG-related training last year, covering cultural safety, clinical governance, modern slavery and ethical practice. We’ve reduced unnecessary clinical freight, diverted plastic packaging from landfill and backed practical changes proposed by Green Teams across multiple sites.

We’re focused on doing this work at scale and with clarity. That includes reducing emissions by 40 per cent by 2030, increasing Indigenous procurement, and improving access to career pathways for veterans and underrepresented groups. ESG is fundamental to how we deliver care, manage risk and maintain trust, at every level of the organisation.
