On 20 June, Aspen Medical’s USA team won a third Vanguard award at the prestigious International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) Global Impact Awards held in Washington D.C.
ISOA is a worldwide association representing the stability sector, whose members work together with key organisations and government policy makers for long-term stability and growth in the world’s most unstable places.
This year’s award recognised our operations in Ukraine and follows wins for our Ebola operations in West Africa and our operations in Mosul.
Aspen Medical Founder and Executive Chair Glenn Keys AO joined the team at the awards ceremony and accepted the Vanguard award on behalf of the company. Glenn played tribute to the team in the USA which is led by Ethan Bond, VP Business Development and Growth.
Accepting the award, Glenn said, “I am very proud that this year’s Vanguard award has recognised our work in Ukraine, where Aspen Medical delivers a range of services to both the US Department of Defense and the Ukrainian Ministries of Defence and Health. These services include a comprehensive, mixed methods assessment of Ukrainian trauma and combat casualty care capabilities.
“In addition to the research component, our work there includes facilitating the engagement of US, EU, and Ukrainian leadership and subject matter experts through the execution of 13 technical symposia to facilitate lessons learned and identify areas for immediate improvement of trauma and combat casualty care.”
In addition to our contracted operations in Ukraine, our charitable foundation, the Aspen Medical Foundation, has partnered with Alcoa Foundation to provide prosthetic limbs and specialised rehabilitation training in Ukraine, where over 50,000 individuals have suffered conflict-related traumatic amputations.
