Aspen Medical was named as the joint winner of the Exporter of the Year at the 56th Australian Export Awards which were held in Canberra on 27 November 2018. The company also picked up the award in the Health & Biotechnology category on its way to the overall award, the third time it won the category at the national finals.
This is the first time Aspen Medical has won the overall award. The award was shared with South Australia's SEAPA, a business that is revolutionising the oyster farming industry with its injection-moulded plastic baskets and farming systems.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham said, “This is an outstanding achievement by two Australian companies that started as small grassroots operations and are now global businesses exporting their high-quality products and services to the world.
“They exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation and I hope they can inspire thousands of other small businesses out there to take a punt and become exporters.”
Aspen Medical’s Group CEO Bruce Armstrong accepted the awards on behalf of the company and dedicated the win to Aspen Medical’s entire global team.
“Thank you to our entire global team who provide world-class healthcare day in, day out, wherever we’re needed. Sometimes in the harshest environments around the globe.
“These incredible awards are shared amongst our entire team – from those on the front line directly providing healthcare to those supporting them in our worldwide regional offices and Head Office in Canberra,” said Bruce.
