Background

In 2022 and 2024, Aspen Medical partnered with a leading national sporting organisation to deliver tailored onsite health and wellbeing services for its staff. Delivered at their headquarters and training facilities, the initiative aimed to support early risk detection, promote preventative health behaviours and enhance overall workforce wellbeing.

The services were designed to address key risk factors relevant to the high-performance environment, including cardiovascular disease, skin cancer and musculoskeletal injuries.

Approach

Aspen Medical delivered a suite of coordinated services:

  • Healthy Heart Checks: Onsite cardiovascular risk assessments incorporating biometric testing, pathology and lifestyle evaluation. Each participant received a personalised report, with referrals provided where results fell outside safe clinical ranges.
  • Skin cancer screening: Private, full-body skin assessments aligned to national clinical guidelines. Services included education on sun safety, lesion monitoring and referral support.
  • Ergonomic assessments: Onsite ergonomic reviews reduced musculoskeletal strain and enhanced workstation safety. Participants received tailored guidance and resources to support healthy work practices.

All services included a combination of clinical review, risk assessment, employee education and follow-up pathways. Aspen Medical also provided the client with a de-identified report summarising population-level trends and actionable insights.

Results

  • Healthy Heart Checks for 21 staff members resulted in two referrals (one immediate, one for follow-up).
  • Skin cancer screening identified four individuals requiring further assessment (two urgent, two routine), based on common lesion concerns.
  • Ergonomic assessments provided practical, individualised support for staff, including workstation adjustments and injury prevention strategies.

Aggregate insights were used to guide future health priorities and build a safer, more health-conscious workplace culture.

Outcome

Aspen Medical helped this high-profile organisation to:

  • improve health awareness and early intervention among staff
  • reduce risks related to cardiovascular, dermatological and musculoskeletal conditions
  • provide clear pathways for follow-up care when required
  • deliver meaningful data to inform long-term workforce wellbeing strategies.

By embedding prevention-focused services within the workplace, the organisation strengthened its commitment to staff health and safety, while reinforcing a culture of proactive care.
