Background

Etihad Airways operates a dedicated medical centre in Abu Dhabi to support the health and wellbeing of its global aviation workforce. To maintain high standards of primary healthcare and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, Etihad engaged Aspen Medical to provide a fully licensed general practitioner (GP) for their medical centre.

Approach

Aspen Medical was contracted to deliver a coordinated, end-to-end GP staffing solution, including:

  • recruitment and deployment of a qualified and Department of Health (DOH)-licensed GP
  • processing of employment visas, health insurance and UAE labour compliance
  • integration of the GP into Etihad’s clinical operations, without the need for external relievers
  • ongoing compliance with all UAE medical regulations and DOH standards.

The service was designed to align with Etihad Airways’ operational needs, prioritising continuity, compliance and high-quality care.

Results

  • Delivered a consistent, high-quality primary care service for Etihad Airways employees
  • Enhanced access to occupational healthcare for airline personnel across all shifts
  • Maintained full compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and DOH licensing requirements
  • Strengthened Etihad’s in-house medical capability with seamless clinical integration
  • Applied international best practice in workforce health service delivery
  • Supported operational continuity through dependable, regulation-compliant care.

Outcome

Aspen Medical has successfully embedded a cost-effective, high-quality GP service within the Etihad Airways Medical Centre, ensuring consistent access to care for airline personnel. The renewed, multi-year contract reflects strong client satisfaction and a robust working relationship.
