The Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care has awarded a contract to Aspen Medical, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Global Medical Supplies, to provide various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the National Medical Stockpile.
The contract, awarded after a competitive tender process, required the company to source P2 Respirators, Surgical Masks and Nitrile Gloves.
The respirators and surgical masks were manufactured at Aspen Medical's PPE manufacturing plant in Brisbane, where the company also has a logistical hub.
Ed Smeaton, Aspen Medical's GM - Supply Chain said, "It's very reassuring for our sovereign mask manufacturing capability to be supplying the nation's medical stockpile needs. Providing quality Australian-made PPE reduces the risk of future supply chain disruptions."
Aspen Medical has continued to invest in and enhance its range of locally manufactured PPE at its facility in Brisbane.
