Dr Katrina Sanders
Dr Katrina Sanders is Chief Medical Officer at Aspen Medical, with executive accountability across health solutions, clinical governance, artificial intelligence (AI) transformation, growth and marketing. She combines clinical leadership, commercial judgement and governance expertise to shape safe, sustainable and digitally enabled healthcare models across Aspen Medical’s global operations.
With more than two decades of health sector experience, Dr Sanders is recognised for her work in health system transformation, AI in healthcare and digitally enabled models of care. Her expertise includes virtual care, AI-enabled clinical decision support, innovative workforce models and modern clinical governance. She focuses on improving access, system efficiency, resilience and quality in complex and resource-constrained environments.
Dr Sanders leads Aspen Medical’s Health Solutions and Growth division, integrating clinical expertise, technology and commercial strategy to strengthen performance across government, defence, humanitarian and international health markets. She also provides strategic advice on public health system design, reform and service delivery, helping decision-makers navigate the opportunities and risks associated with digital transformation and AI-enabled healthcare.
A sought-after speaker at major healthcare conferences and industry events, Dr Sanders contributes to national and international discussions on digitally enabled health models, responsible AI adoption, clinical governance and the future health workforce. Her perspective is grounded in practical experience designing and governing healthcare services in diverse operating environments.
Dr Sanders is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators. She holds a master’s degree in public health and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also a Fellow of the Security and Health Executive Leadership Institute and has completed executive education in Clinical Governance for Board Directors and AI Strategy for Leaders.
Dr Sanders has received two Australia Day Achievement Medallions for her contributions to healthcare leadership. Outside her executive role, she serves as chair and director on several boards, bringing strategic, clinical and governance insight to organisations navigating health system reform and the digital health landscape.
