Registered Nurses - Aged Care

Aspen Aged Healthcare, a subsidiary of the Aspen Medical Group, contracted to provide ACERT and ACCESS on behalf of the Australian Government, is seeking skilled Registered Nurses to join our existing team of clinical and non-clinical professionals. The roles are critical to support aged care services at short notice. This is a unique opportunity to work in a rapid response team environment and make a difference. With your help, we can ensure that elderly Australians continues to receive quality care during the COVID19 pandemic.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • providing nursing care in a safe, compassionate, and person-centred approach to the residents of an aged care facility where the usual workforce is unavailable due to the impacts of COVID19
  • conducting resident assessments and preparing and reviewing care plans in consultation with the resident and relevant stakeholders
  • admitting and assessing new residents, including the development of interim healthcare plans
  • supporting residents and their families when dealing with resident clinical care needs
  • ensuring any clinical care needs are managed and communicated in a professional and timely manner
  • reporting incidents that may occur at the facility which may impact resident care
  • ensuring compliance with the Aspen Medical Governance Framework, Infection Prevention and Control and relevant national standards


Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • post-graduate experience in aged care, gerontology, public health, or infection control is desirable
  • minimum of 3 years'  clinical experience (though new graduates will be considered as members of more experienced teams for deployment).
  • current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions, undertakings, or reprimands
  • current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training
  • current police and working with vulnerable people check or preparedness to apply for same prior to commencing duty.
