Hours of Work:  0700 to 1700

Salary $473.40 per day  

Position Overview

The RN Medic will provide a range of primary health care & occupational health management on the Shell Project at Chinchilla.  We are seeking Registered Nurses that can do a range of activities including responding to medical emergencies and will be responsible to:

·         Responding to medical emergencies 

·         Primary Health Care / Injury & Illness Management

·         Fitness to Work (FTW) Assessments 

·         Drug & Alcohol Testing

·         Health & Wellness Promotion 

·         Compliance with Clinical Governance Frameworks, providing evidenced based, client focused and transparent health services, that demonstrates advanced clinical nursing care and comprehensive decision making

·         Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all key stakeholders

·         Actively participate in compliance, assurance and continuous improvement activities.

·         Assist to develop, implement, manage and regularly assess the site staff induction program.

·         Assist to review of Fitness to Work Medicals and monitor participants under RTW programs.


Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Current and unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Post graduate qualifications and experience in intensive care, critical care or emergency care nursing
  • Current certification in; Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training and certification, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Current certification in; Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 5 years’ work experience in emergency medicine
  • 3 years’ work experience at remote locations
  • Current driver's licence
  • Previous experience within the Oil and Gas Sector is an advantage
  • Additional accredited training
  • Drug & Alcohol collection
  • Defensive driving
