Registered Nurse (RN Medic)

Aspen Medical is seeking casual Registered Nurse Medic who will provide a range of primary health care & occupational health management on one of our projects at Chinchilla. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • responding to medical emergencies including:
  1. Primary Health Care / Injury & Illness Management
  2. Fitness to Work (FTW) Assessments 
  3. Drug & Alcohol Testing
  4. Health & Wellness Promotion 
  5. Compliance with Clinical Governance Frameworks, providing evidenced based, client focused and transparent health services, that demonstrates advanced clinical nursing care and comprehensive decision making
  • developing and maintaining professional working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • participating in compliance, assurance and continuous improvement activities
  • assisting to develop, implement, manage and regularly assess the site staff induction program
  • assisting to review of Fitness to Work Medicals and monitor participants under Return to Work (RTW) programs.


Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 
  • current and unconditional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • post graduate qualifications and experience in intensive care, critical care or emergency care nursing
  • current certification in Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training and certification, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • current certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 5 years’ work experience in emergency medicine
  • 3 years’ work experience at remote locations
  • current driver's licence holder
  • previous experience within the Oil and Gas Sector is an advantage
  • additional accredited training
  • drug & Alcohol collection
  • defensive driving
