Aspen Medical has a proud and ongoing history supporting the Australian Defence Force (ADF) on military activities and exercises both within Australia and on overseas deployments. We are seeking a qualified Paramedic who will be responsible in providing medical support to weapon training practices and field training exercises at various locations in Australia. 

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • providing emergency and primary healthcare medical response when required during training exercises, 24 hours per day 7 days per week
  • managing of medical equipment while on task
  • managing of consumables and pharmaceutical supplies while on task
  • managing of pharmaceuticals in accordance with the Poisons Licence
  • ensuring that the health promotion activities are within the scope of a Paramedic (to include refresher training where appropriate) if requested by client
  • participating in emergency response planning and exercises in conjunction with the client
  • reconciliating and re-stocking of kit bags on completion of task as directed by the Project Manager
  • other tasks as directed by the Project Manager.


Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 
  • qualified as an Intensive Care Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic within a recognised Australasian Ambulance Service
  • minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Intensive Care or Critical Care Paramedic within an Australasian Ambulance Service. This is after completion of all mandatory Intensive or Critical Care Paramedic training and/or RPL programs
  • current certificate to Practice, or Authority to Practice, or a Letter from the Clinical Manager confirming currency to practice as an Intensive or Critical Care Paramedic (an Intensive or Critical Care Paramedics CTP/ATP or letter accounts for 20-hours of CPD evidence)
  • a letter from a Human Resource Manager/Department identifying current clinical scope of practice as an Intensive or Critical Care Paramedic with NO restrictions, and confirming completion of 250 hours of on-road clinical time within the past 12-months
  • two professional referees who can attest the applicant’s recent clinical competence within the past 2-years. Note: One reference to be from a clinical supervisor and/or manager.
  • prior experience working with the ADF is highly desirable.
