June for Joel
Joel Sardi is a colleague of ours who now works in Ironside Recruitment, a subsidiary of Aspen Medical. Joel was on leave from the Australian Defence Force in August 2014 and suffered a fall and now is C5 quadriplegic. Joel’s dream to stand and walk again requires him to undergo expensive rehabilitation in San Diego, USA, at Project Walk.
Over the month of June, Aspen Medical will donate $1 for every kilometre walked or jogged by a staff member during their lunch break. Our target is 10,000 kilometres. It’s a great opportunity for our team to take their lunch breaks, get out in the fresh air and be active and at the same time would raise money for Joel. Joel’s dream is to walk again. This is something many of us take for granted – the ability to walk. So we are asking our team to do what Joel can’t so that one day we hope he can again.
So what do we need you to do?
From 1st June clock your lunchtime kilometres, get competitive with colleagues and email your results every Friday afternoon to [email protected]. A weekly tally of our kilometres will be sent out every Monday showing how we are doing in relation to our target.
