Description

Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aspen Medical focused on providing healthcare in remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. RAHC is currently seeking Clinical Coordinators to provide supportive services and assist in the promotion of safe practice to Health Professionals (HPs) undergoing a remote placement. 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • ensuring the effective and efficient management of RAHC clinical support across the Northern Territory and management of the clinical team providing this support
  • continuing development and improvement of the quality of clinical services
  • maintaining positive relationships with HPs, health services, and stakeholders with the goal of continuous growth of an overall improvement in the organisation
  • managing of ongoing professional and career development of HPs including clinical support, education, training and mentoring.
Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 
  • tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practising certificate
  • proven clinical experience as an RN in the Northern Territory working in Aboriginal communities
  • demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture and remote health service delivery in a cross-cultural setting, including key issues for HPs
  • experience in health management roles and preferably experience in management in a remote setting
  • ability to obtain assessor qualifications and perform assessments in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other mandatory competency for HPs in remote health in collaboration with Clinical team and Clinical Manager
  • ability to work independently and apply initiative and flexible approaches to deliver a positive placement experience for HPs
  • current Drivers licence and ability to drive a manual 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicle
  • has excellent oral and written communication skills
  • strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • can work in a team environment and able to manage conflicting priorities
  • demonstrated accuracy, quality and consistency in all aspects of work.
