Business Development Manager

Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking Business Development Manager to assist in our growth strategy. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment providing an opportunity to work for a company that is passionate about our social purpose.

You’ll be an integral and trusted team member reporting to the Director of Business Development, located in the Canberra Head Office.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • identifying and contacting new potential customers in order to generate new business
  • maintaining relationships with existing clients and securing new business from these organisations
  • writing competitive proposals and tender responses
  • developing innovative pricing solutions
  • gathering intelligence on customers and competitors
Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 
  • sound knowledge and understanding of the legal and business framework within which Aspen Medical operates, or the capacity to quickly identify and respond to those requirements
  • demonstrable ability to project and manage successful large-scale tenders
  • demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and direct the efforts of others towards the completion of plans and achievement of determined objectives, in an environment, which provides ongoing personal development opportunities for individuals
  • proven management skills and a demonstrated record of achievement, related to the management of human, financial, and strategic resources, in an executive position within a highly diverse organisation
  • demonstrated successful performance in the management of a diverse organisation
  • demonstrated ability to determine and achieve corporate goals
  • demonstrated capacity to establish and develop effective relationships with customers; through the determination of needs, management of processes and delivery standards with respect to developing bids and proposals
  • superior consultative, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
  • high-level analytical skills, including the ability to analyse requirements
  • ability to develop and implement a growth strategy, including working with potential industry partners
  • ability to identify and articulate innovative project initiatives
  • ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with other departments within the organisation
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, including professional tender writing skills
  • excellent project management skills
  • ability to communicate with and engage people effectively to achieve a result
  • ability to understand and apply business excellence principles
  • demonstrated high levels of personal integrity and ethics of management practice
  • demonstrated commitment to the maintenance of ongoing knowledge of contemporary management issues and practices, particularly as they relate to individual executive effectiveness
  • previous experience in the healthcare industry is desirable.
