Aspen Medical is currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified Aero-Medical Evacuation (AME) Doctors for various projects nationally. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and develop further experience within AME.

As an AME Doctor you will provide comprehensive treatment to patients in an emergency setting. You will be based in a residence where you will be on call for missions. Each mission takes approximately 6 hours, depending on the location and severity of the situation. The missions involve initial assessment and treatment of the patient, monitoring and treatment of the patient during transport and handover of the patient to the hospital.

Experience, qualifications and documentation required: 

To be successful in the role you will have to have the following:

  • Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery or an Australian/Overseas equivalent recognised by the Australian Medical Council.
  • Current unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Evidence of Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or vocational registration. Additional qualifications or recognition may be required for the provision of specific clinical services, procedures or other interventions.
  • Evidence of successful completion of Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) or Advanced Trauma Life Support within the last 4 years, or equivalent.
